Welcome
Welcome to the Roots of Renewal Session! Strong financial management is the backbone of a resilient farm or ranch. In this interactive two-hour workshop, participants will learn how to build and interpret the three core financial statements—balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows—and use them to guide decision-making. Through demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and practical examples, you’ll practice entering data into templates, calculating key financial ratios, and exploring enterprise analysis and budgeting basics. Whether you’re new to record-keeping or looking to sharpen your skills, this session will give you practical tools and confidence to track performance, anticipate challenges, and strengthen the financial health of your operation. Please bring a laptop to this session if you have one available.
Each tab contains the Virtual Owners Manual Recording, an ABM note discussing the properties and uses of the financial statement, and a copy of the presentation to follow along, or for viewing at a later date.
The final tab contains a list of the sample transactions that we will be working from to populate our templates for the interactive portion!
